Early reports of Nintendo’s upcoming console, the Wii U, pegged it as on par with the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Given the fact that the third party game footage at Nintendo’s E3 press conference used Xbox 360 and PS3 assets, it all but confirmed those assumptions. It turns out that we may be underestimating the system.
The star of the Nintendo press conference was obviously the Wii U, and third party trailers were shown for it. However, the system’s hardware has not been finalized, so how were those trailers shown? Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime explained that the trailers were assets from the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the games.
