Christmas is a-coming. Can you feel it? Can you feel your game store filling up with games you’ve never heard of? Have you seen the annual signs yet like the Call of Duty or Professor Layton games lining store shelves? If you haven’t you’ll see one this week.
As I wrote in my review, Tekken 6′s online matches could use a whole lot of improvement. Namco Bandai actually listened to our complaints and will be releasing a free downloadable update to improve the online Tekken 6 experience for Xbox 360 and PS3 players. The update is scheduled for release November 26.
If the last month is the high school equivalent of finals, this week, and basically the entirety of next month, is like Summer vacation. Even the DS releases are below double digits! I hope I have something to even put in the Releases to watch for section. Well actually there is at least one game. Kinda.
Between Namco Bandai’s two fighting franchises: Soul Calibur and Tekken, I’ve always preferred Soul Calibur. I like the full 3D movement and more natural, instinctual feel of it. Tekken is more dial-a-combo and is also more accurately a 2.5D fighter. However, that in no way detracts from the excellence that is Tekken 6. It is deep and refined in its own combo-happy way.
Because they didn’t release enough Wii and DS games last week, they decided to do it again. Join me this week as I jump into the pile of Wii and DS games being released. My plan is to dive in and swim around kinda like how Scrooge McDuck swims through his money bin. Maybe I’ll find some gems hidden at the bottom of the pile. Or more pet simulators. My money’s on more pet simulators.
Namco Bandai Games announced that development is complete on Tekken 6. The sixth King of Iron Fist Tournament will be arriving on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Portable on October 27. It will be released in the standard retail, Arcade Stick and Limited editions, and it will have new off and online features and a gigantic roster of 42 characters. In selected territories an exclusive Tekken 6 PS3 hardware bundle will also be available.
