So, did you guys vote or did you just stay at home playing Halo 4? One will determine the fate of our country for the next four years while the other the fate of the universe. From that perspective the choice seems rather simple. But enough about that! Onwards to the industry’s current juggernaut. After that, get ready for a full on console launch come this Sunday. Too bad you won’t see any of those games here. I’m saving those for a special Coming Soon this Friday.

Coming Soon! 9/6/2011

If you ever wanted proof that publishers hold back their releases until the magical holiday season, take a look at this week’s releases. Now compare it with about three weeks ago. Or the week before that. Or the week before that. Get my drift? Despite the HD consoles’ resurgence in releases, the Wii looks to be skipping out on this week waiting for God knows what. The 360 and PS3, however, are seeing some fairly big name releases this week betraying their impatience in waiting for November to roll around.

Not too long ago, most First Person Shooters on the console were mostly known for their single player component than their multiplayer component.  Call of Duty 2 is a pretty good example of this.  Even though it has online multiplayer, the barebones options and limited weapons made it extremely narrow and not very replayable.  It was far more renowned for its incredible graphics and ability to immerse players into the hells of World War II.  The original Resistance: Fall of Man fell under that same category in that it had a far better single player experience than its multiplayer component.  Given that pedigree, Resistance 2 might have ended up the same way, but what we got instead was the complete and total opposite.
