And the hits just keep on coming! With Borderlands 2 leading the fall release madness, we’re getting yet another triple-A title this week along with a number of other games hoping to catch your eye as you peruse the shelves looking for that triple-A title that just came out. Sneaky.
Now this is more like it! Although Madden normally signals the start of the Fall schedule triple-A madness, it certainly doesn’t feel like it given what we’ve had the last two weeks. This week, that changes.
And now we’re back to the famine phase. Don’t worry folks. It won’t last especially since our annual Madden roster update comes out next week. For now, we’ll just have to settle for robot-on-robot violence.
I’m beginning to notice a really weird trend. Every other week, game of the year contenders gets released while the weeks in between get either almost nothing of any worth or fairly niche titles. Looks like this week falls sort of in the latter.
If you’re wondering why this week’s release seemed so anorexic, look no further than what’s coming out in the theaters. That’s right, folks. It all ends! In deference to the almighty behemoth that is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, video game releases stayed clear of this week so we can go to movie theaters undistracted by such trivialities like video games. This explanation just feels easier to swallow than the usual “It’s Summer and therefore the video game industry don’t release anything because they think games don’t sell during this time of the year so why bother releasing anything good around this time,” nonsense. Well, at least you got football.
Poor second hand video games market. Nobody on the publishing and developing side loves you. Microsoft and Lionhead have also taken steps to reduce the value of second hand Fable 3. They have just announced today that they will be offering free DLC with new copies of Fable 3. New copies will come with a one time use code for a variety of DLCs including a Raise Dead potion, a Slow Time potion, a Highlander Tatto set, a Red Setter dog skin for your dog companion, and a Scot outfit for your character.
MIAMI– Who Dat! The New Orleans Saints pull the upset and march to a victory over the Indianapolis Colts with a score of 35-31 at Super Bowl XLIV, according to the official Electronic Arts (NASDAQ:ERTS) simulation run by the award-winning Madden NFL 10 on Xbox 360.
How will your team do this year? If you’re from the Bay Area, it’s best not to think about it. But if you’re a 49er fan as well as a glutton for the taste of your own tears you can check out EA‘s individual and overall team ratings for the NFC West division, available for perusal on the Madden NFL 10 Preview website.
