How does that saying go? One is random. Two is a coincidence. Three is a pattern. Well, starting with two weeks ago with Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream, Drop, Distance and its following week of just one release, we’re seeing an odd pattern of one big week followed by a small, dead week before repeating again. Lucky for us, we’re in the big week.
Not the official Logo
While rumors have been around for awhile, and I picked it to make its’ debut at E3 2011 back in June, today Rockstar Games has made it official – Grand Theft Auto V is coming to a console near you.
Another year has passed us once again folks. We’ve wasted yet another thousand hours of our lives in front of our TV, and we just wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve talked to our staff, and with a little bit of “persuasion” (That’s my nickname for my trusty cattle prod), I managed to get them to write a little something about what they consider to be their personal Game of the Year.
Can’t you see the resemblance to Michael “Shagg” Washington?
What I know about Cypress Hill in a nutshell: made up by members B-Real, Sen-Dog, and DJ Muggs, copious amounts of dope both lyrical and actual, and how I can’t understand how they could just kill a man. According to IGN, backup singer Michael “Shagg” Washington is suing Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive for allegedly using his image without his knowledge in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.
I’ve been a fan of Rockstar’s games since I got my hands on Grand Theft Auto III. I’ve even beaten a few of them. In fact I had just gotten through Grand Theft Auto IV just a few months back (LttP much, I know). The last thing I wanted to do was invest another large chunk of my time in besting another Rockstar game, and yet it’s funny how our rotation worked out. I got assigned Red Dead Redemption. As you might have guessed, yes this is a Rockstar game. In such an irony of fate I quickly became engrossed often skipping sleep in order to “finish one more mission” that would undoubtedly turn into a few more hours of playtime. Even with that said should you stay past bedtime or lay this one to bed?
Welcome one and welcome all to the recap to cap off your week with. If it happened during the week you’ll no doubt re-hear about it here, with a bit of a sarcastic and witty twist of course. They say hindsight is 20/20 so lets look back at the stories that broke this week that made us laugh, cry, gasp and say WHY GAWD, WHY?!?!?
Hollywood has always tried to cash in on the popularity of video games. Whether it’s games based on movies or vice versa, the finished products have ranged from mediocre to just plain horrible to downright Uwe Boll. With games like Castlevania and Gears of War slated to get whored out to Tinseltown, it’s refreshing to know that one publisher is steering clear of it.
