Finally! You know how hard it is to play Street Fighter on the 360 controller? It kills my thumbs! I just don’t have the type of tolerance that I had during my SNES Street Fighter days. Doing fireball motions is torture after a while, but charge characters? Forget it, you can barely use them. The analog stick doesn’t work all that great either.
Atlus Dissolved by Parent Company Index Holdings
Atlus, publisher of relatively obscure and very Japanese titles such as Shin Megami Tensei, Persona, and Trauma Center, has been dissolved by parent company Index Holdings, according to Edge. Atlus was acquired by Index Holdings in 2006 but as of now it has been brought under the latter’s direct control.
Xbox Live Subscription Price will Increase in Nov
Ugh. The Xbox community’s Major Nelson announced today that the cost of an Xbox Live subscription will be going up $10.00 this November, according to a disheartening article on Gamepolitics. On November 1, 2010, the annual price of $49.99 will be $59.99, just in time for the holiday season!

Okay Metroid maniacs, calm the hell down! Your game has arrived this week. And as for you Valkyria Chronicles fans over in the corner there, your day has arrived as well. From the looks of it, everyone’s making way for Metroid’s newest release given how small the number of releases is this week.
Your Mass Effect Costume’s Essential Add-On
So, Halloween’s coming up right? If you’re planning to go as Commander Shepard, here’s a guy you need to talk to first. Harisson Krix is a graphic designer who has the best hobby ever. He makes lifelike props from movies and video games, and his latest project is that of the signature assault rifle from Mass Effect (Pictured above).
Last Dragon Age: Origins DLC “Witch Hunt” Announced
Seriously, I should start a column called Dragon Age News or something. But much to my surprise and so soon after the recently released DLC Golems of Amgarrak, Bioware has announced its final DLC for Origins: “Witch Hunt.” Set one year after the defeat of the Archdemon and therefore six months after the events in Awakening, Witch Hunt ties up loose ends with the most mysterious and deceitful of your Warden’s companions: Morrigan.
Zynga Sued Over Mafia Wars
When I first gave in and started a Facebook account not too long ago I was invited to play a lot of games: Farmville, Cafe World, Uno…but the one that captivated me was Mafia Wars. I was addicted to this for a good few weeks, leveling up, buying properties, and exchanging gifts. Then total strangers started attacking my properties, I had to keep repairing, I got pissed off…now I completely lost interest. Everyone keeps sending me gifts, though. What was I saying? Oh yeah, turns out the name Mafia Wars belongs to company named Digital Chocolate and plays similarly to Zynga’s version, according to Edge. Digital Chocolate’s version was released in 2004, Zynga’s in 2009.
Latest Medal of Honor Sparks Controversy
The upcoming Medal of Honor, set in present day war torn Afghanistan, drew fire recently due to the option for players to play a Taliban soldier in multiplayer. The ability to play as one of these woman mutilating, school burning, Buddha statue destroying throwbacks (I never said I was unbiased, especially after reading the Time Magazine article accompanying this rather disturbing cover.) has understandably sparked strong reactions from families of fallen soldiers, various media outlets, and British Defense Secretary Liam Fox. But Electronic Arts stated today that it stands by its decision and will not alter any content, according to Industrygamers.
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands Review
Not only was Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands my very first time playing a PoP game, but it was the first time in very long time that I played a platformer that required so much dexterity. To be honest I was turned off to platformers since reviewing some mediocre Sonic games and I wasn’t particularly excited about delving into this one, even though PoP is worlds apart from Sonic.

Oh God! It’s coming. What am I talking about? The rush. I don’t mean the band either. I mean the rush of games that just comes out of nowhere come September. This week, we’re already starting to get a taste of it. Last year’s jump was bad enough with 52 games in August and 136 in September. Sleepless Sundays, here I come.
