Prince of Persia Director: Not a Fan of Video Games

With Roger Ebert finally conceding that yes, games can be art, a new hater has emerged to take his place. That dubious distinction ironically goes to Prince of Persia director Mike Newell. In an interview with CVG, Newell offered basically unqualified opinions on how video games cannot convey human emotion the way film can.

Time for something completely different. Sort of. The English city of Derby has just opened a new ring road that will hopefully improve traffic flow. The good citizens of Derby took a vote on what to call this new road, and the winner was Lara Croft Way.

POTUS to Appear in Madden 11

Yahoo! Games reports that President Obama will make a cameo appearance in the upcoming Madden 11. This year’s entry into the pigskin franchise will feature lengthy post-Super Bowl victory celebrations along with team specific commentary.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 Review

When Nintendo makes a mainline, non-sports related Mario title, one thing has almost always been a certainty. It’s not a sequel. At least not in the classical, “more of the same, but more awesome” sense. When Nintendo announced Super Mario Galaxy 2, many feared that Nintendo has finally fallen into the sequel trap. Thankfully, that’s not entirely the case.

Street Fighter X Tekken!!?

This year’s Comic-Con was definitely the place to be. A panel called “Street Fighter IV and Beyond” with SFIV producer Yoshinori Ono was interrupted by Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada on Saturday. Thankfully the two rival producers didn’t get into a brawl, but instead announced their most exciting collaboration: Street fighter x Tekken, reports Kotaku.
Sony Announces LittleBigPlanet 2 Release Date

Sony will launch LittleBigPlanet 2 on November 16, Edge reports. The PS3 platformer is the sequel to 2008’s original LittleBigPlanet, which has gone on to sell over 3 million copies.

Elliot Noss, CEO of domain provider Tucows trains six to seven hours a week to improve his leadership skills by playing World of Warcraft.
