Mario Kart Used to Treat Impaired Vision

What do carrots, cannabis, and Mario Kart have in common? They’re good for the eyes. A story on Yahoo! Games talks about a six year old British boy named Ben Michaels who suffers from amblyopia, also known as lazy eye syndrome. The ailment causes degraded vision that could become permanent over time. The prescription? Mario Kart DS for two hours a day.

PS3s Now Profitable for Sony

Good news PS3 fanboys!  Sony is now making money off of each PS3 they sell according to Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony’s Worldwide Studios, in an interview with IGN (via 1UP).  ”This is the first time that we were able to cover the cost of the Playstation 3.”  This is good news for Sony who have been struggling to balance between bringing down the cost of the PS3 to meet consumer’s price point expectation and being profitable with the PS3.

E3 Round-Up: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

Coming into E3 2010 everyone and their Mom knew Nintendo would make an announcement in regards to The Legend of Zelda series. It has been a little more than 3 years since the release of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and in all respects an announcement was due. Nintendo delivered from the get go of their press conference with the premier trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Zelda is officially back, but for everything we know right now there is still plenty of unknown. So without further ado here is what we do know.

Mario Mathoners Are At It Again!

E3 2010: Silent Hill 8

Konami announced its eighth entry into the survival horror series Silent Hill. “Silent Hill 8″ is currently the working title of the next game as new hapless victim needs to unravel the dark and twisted corridors of the hell-on-earth that is Silent Hill. Just know if you ever wind up in this town, you’re royally screwed.

E3 2010: Finally…A Kid Icarus Sequel!!

No, I didn’t somehow miraculously make it to E3. That doesn’t mean I still won’t report on important gaming news. Nintendo unveiled its new 3DS, a handheld with real 3D graphics without the need for 3D glasses. Among the featured games are Nintendogs+Cats, Resident Evil Revelations, Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater 3D, and…Kid Icarus: Uprising.
