(Nasdaq: ATVI) and Marvel Entertainment (NYSE: MVL) have released the first details of Spider-Man(TM): Shattered Dimensions, the newest entry of non-stop heroic action to star the iconic wall-crawler. The video game is scheduled for release in September 2010 and will allow players to travel through four different worlds as distinctly different versions of Spider-Man from four universes across Marvel lore, two of which are announced today: The Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man Noir.

On March 27 in Hull, England the Street Fighter Champion Ryan Hart broke the record for longest winning streak in Street Fighter IV. In 4 hours he took on 169 challengers and beat them all. The previous record was 108.

So last week, we had 16 games coming out for the DS alone! This week, we don’t even have 16 games coming out period. Weekly releases are truly manic in that sense. Moreover, you know it’s a bad week when probably the most notable release is a Dead or Alive freakin’ spin-off game. Hope you like to stare at half naked women. Who am I kidding, of course you do!

Joystiq reports that Xbox 360 Memory Units and the 120 GB hard drive are being phased out. An Xbox spokesman confirmed that “the channel is being drained” of the storage options.

Apparently this ain’t your granddaddy’s tough-as-nails Army anymore. For the first time in 20 years, the U.S. Army is altering its training program to adjust to a generation weaned on video games, according to an article on Yahoo! Games.

125 hours. That’s how long it took me to finally finish this behemoth. And you know what? I’d gladly play one hundred more hours in Dragon Age Origins, but I have to get back to living my life.

Finally! A break from some big ass triple A release. Not that this week doesn’t have anything worth looking into. We’ve got a sequel whose first entry sucked. We’ve got yet another sequel whose first sequel doesn’t suck nearly as much. And we’ve got a deluge of DS games being released this week. Looks like things are finally getting back to normal.
