Coming Soon! 11/16/2009

Because last week just wasn’t awesome enough, we follow up last week with more sequels that we probably just can’t live without. Even if they’re kinda weird sequels. On the one hand we’ve got a sequel that we’re looking forward to mainly because the last one really wasn’t that good, but it had potential which it never lived up to. The other one a good number of people aren’t looking forward to at all because the original is just too awesome, and this sequel will only mean that the developer won’t be supporting that one with updates and whatnot. Confused? Gamers are a finicky bunch aren’t they?

TEKKEN 6 Review

Between Namco Bandai’s two fighting franchises: Soul Calibur and Tekken, I’ve always preferred Soul Calibur. I like the full 3D movement and more natural, instinctual feel of it. Tekken is more dial-a-combo and is also more accurately a 2.5D fighter. However, that in no way detracts from the excellence that is Tekken 6. It is deep and refined in its own combo-happy way.

Wait I’ve just been informed that the game is kind of a big deal so it look like we will have something to talk about this week then after all :P . With all the hype behind that game it was almost easy to miss everything else that happened this week and oh boy is there a lot to take in.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Review

Do you remember when the Xbox 360 first came out, and the one game that made the 360 worth buying was Call of Duty 2? I remember playing that game well into the morning hours for a good week. I couldn’t believe just how good the game looked, and the way the game immersed you into World War II was just unreal. At that time, I honestly didn’t think that games could look any better. Of course, a couple of Gears of Wars and a Call of Duty 4 later, games did look better, but I’ll never forget that feeling the first time I walked around a little French hamlet and just being in awe of all the details on the houses and the streets. Or that part when the Germans were storming a Russian building and the Russians inside starts screaming and shouting to steel themselves for the assault. Why am I bringing this up? Because, I felt it again. After all these years and all the games that came out in between, I am once again find myself in awe.
