I was cruising through the news cycle and I ran across an article on IGN about some slime ball who registered the URL modernwarfare4.com with the intent that Infinity Ward barter free copies of the game, for him and his amigos, in exchange for the rights to the URL. At this point I hope to Bob that it be a Treyarch game instead just to stick it to them.

The Xinhua News Agency reports that China’s Ministry of Culture has forbidden websites from running, publishing, or posting links that feature games centered on mafia-style organized crime, threatening those who violate the ban with “severe punishment”.

Hollywood has always tried to cash in on the popularity of video games. Whether it’s games based on movies or vice versa, the finished products have ranged from mediocre to just plain horrible to downright Uwe Boll. With games like Castlevania and Gears of War slated to get whored out to Tinseltown, it’s refreshing to know that one publisher is steering clear of it.
