Oh January! The month that video games seem to avoid like the plague. You and December just can’t catch a break.
After the last two weeks worth of violent, gory games, we get a little break of whimsy as presented by Studio Ghibli. Just make sure you’ve got your insulin shots ready.
The start of this year sure makes video games sound awfully violent doesn’t it? Last week we have the über violent Anarchy Reigns, and this week we’ve got this series reboot.
Missed me? Well let’s pretend you do because I totally missed you guys! The last half of December had absolutely nothing coming out hence my absence. You could say game releases are like blood in the water, and I’m the shark. This week, we’ve got all of one game coming out, and that seems to be enough to wake me out of my sharkly slumber.
I love the lull of December. How there isn’t that many games to write about. How it gives me time to play catch up, however futile that attempt might be. That said, this December has been the weirdest one to date. This is the second week now that something of note is actually coming out, depending on how you want to look at it that is.
December has arrived, one of the most notoriously quietest month of the year when it comes to game releases. The number of games I’ve seen come out in December that’s even remotely worth giving a damn about can be counted on one hand. By the end of this week, that number will… still be countable on one hand.
Thanksgiving has come and gone once again along with it the madness of Black Friday. Like every year before it, the flood of game releases abate to a trickle, most of which are barely worth mentioning. So if I were you, I’d relax and read the up coming months worth of articles leisurely, assured that nothing I post is even worth considering.
Sick of your Wii U yet? God I hope not. You just got it! In case you are, the game industry has a couple of titles just for you you spoiled little brat.
So, did you guys vote or did you just stay at home playing Halo 4? One will determine the fate of our country for the next four years while the other the fate of the universe. From that perspective the choice seems rather simple. But enough about that! Onwards to the industry’s current juggernaut. After that, get ready for a full on console launch come this Sunday. Too bad you won’t see any of those games here. I’m saving those for a special Coming Soon this Friday.
November has come once again to grace its presence upon the games industry. You can tell because every store that carries new games visibly sinks a little bit every Tuesday. So then, what jewel shall we find in this week’s pile of new games?
