The hapless townsfolk have all hidden inside their homes, and the scared shopkeepers all flips their signs from open to close as the three gunmen approaches each other in front of the clock tower at high noon. That’s right. November is upon us once again. This week, we’re getting Call of Duty’s 2011 edition of Call of Duty. We’re also getting the sequel to Oblivion, and Nintendo releases a fairly unorthodox take on their mascot. In other words, we’re getting nothing but sequels this week. Unless you’re willing to look beyond the triple-A releases.

Happy Halloween everybody! And what better way to celebrate Halloween than with a romp through the desert? Better yet, how about a blast from the past? Hell, make it two if you want to count one with an HD facelift. It might just make you forget the fact that you just contracted diabetes after Monday’s candy fest.

Sorry about this week folks. Even the most hardy Coming Soon! authors can succumb to sickness. This week’s release list will be a little bit… sparse.

How does one compete with the ultimate superhero video game ever? Well, the general consensus looks to be to drown the damn thing with so many titles coming from almost every genre under the sun, it’ll make your head spin. Thankfully, I have a neck brace handy.

Madden’s day in the spotlight went by over a month ago. Now soccer takes their turn to be in the spotlight with not one major franchise’s annual release but two. If you ever wanted proof that publishers hold back their releases until the magical holiday season, take a look at this week’s releases. Now compare it with about three weeks ago. Or the week before that. Or the week before that. Get my drift? Despite the HD consoles’ resurgence in releases, the Wii looks to be skipping out on this week waiting for God knows what. The 360 and PS3, however, are seeing some fairly big name releases this week betraying their impatience in waiting for November to roll around.

Last week’s release of Deus Ex, in addition to being one hell of a way to start the pre-holiday video game season, jump started the video game releases as the numbers slowly climbs up above… well, three per week. Oddly enough, The DS releases take charge this week with five games coming out of the gate. If this is Nintendo’s idea of counterprogramming against Deus Ex, somebody in Nintendo’s needs to be fired.
