Now this is more like it! Although Madden normally signals the start of the Fall schedule triple-A madness, it certainly doesn’t feel like it given what we’ve had the last two weeks. This week, that changes.
Missed me? I would have written something last week if I hadn’t passed out from PAX exhaustion or if there was anything even remotely interesting to tell you about unless you think Everyone Sings for PS3 and Xbox 360 is interesting. This week’s offering seems to be a little bit more palatable, so I’ll do you all a solid and shake off the remnants of my PAX hangover so that I may “enlighten” you with the games of the week.
How does that saying go? One is random. Two is a coincidence. Three is a pattern. Well, starting with two weeks ago with Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream, Drop, Distance and its following week of just one release, we’re seeing an odd pattern of one big week followed by a small, dead week before repeating again. Lucky for us, we’re in the big week.
Is that a leak in the water dam? You know, the one holding back the flood of releases that come in October? Well, I’m sure I’m just imagining it. I’m just glad something notable comes out this week after the month long drought we’ve been in.
July 4th is almost upon us once again. Time again we honor a bunch of patriotic stuff like the color red, blue, and white, those guys and gals that stick their necks out for us, and the BBQ pit. Try not to burn your eyebrows this time. If this week’s release is anything to go by, one does not play video games for the week of July 4th, unless it’s a music game in which case it’s totally copacetic.
Summer has officially started. Break out the coolers and the sunscreen as we leave our consoles at home making a nice little, rectangular-shaped dust free zone on your shelf. Don’t worry about them. They’ll be fine. I’m sure they won’t run amok in your house and burn it to the ground or anything. But just in case, why don’t you try feeding them these titles before you head out to the beach next time.
Happy belated Father’s Day everybody! I hope you enjoyed that tie you just got. I don’t know about you, but now I have something to use as a tourniquet when I shoot up. Of course I’m kidding about that, you narc. Anyways, I’m sure you’re wondering about what wonderful video games have come out this week. Please read on while I look for a clean spoon.
