(Week 2 has been posted.  Click on the link at the bottom of the page)

I have a terrible memory. I couldn’t tell you how old I am unless I know what year it is. Even that gets shaky sometimes, so when people asks me about trends in video game releases, I just spout out whatever general wisdom there is about video game releases. “Oh yeah, there’s too many games in November.” “Yeah I agree. There’s just way too many FPS out there.” “I wish they would spread out their releases throughout the year.” These are just some of the little general knowledge that I have about video games releases, but I never had any hard data to back it up. That is until I realized that I do have the hard data. Hell, I’ve been compiling it weekly for almost an entire year!

Silent Hill: One Seriously F-ed Up Town

December 31, 2009

I don’t care much for most horror movies. The majority of them rely too much on gore, shock value, and the sudden appearances of the monster/killer/psycho. November 10, 2009

Every week we wait for the new batch of reviews to come out so we can better inform ourselves as to what games we should go out and buy, and of which games we should steer clear. The Dreamcast Turns 10

September 12, 2009

On the surface, the Sega Dreamcast was a commercial failure. Launched on September 9, 1999 its life cycle was a mere two years. Lack of third party support, fierce competition from Sony’s DVD-playing PlayStation 2, and Sega’s own abandonment not only killed the Dreamcast, but its hardware business altogether. But the Dreamcast can be thought of as the video game industry’s “Dave Chapelle Show.” It may have been short lived, but it had a huge impact, generated a loyal and enthusiastic following, and it is still entertaining.

Day 1: The Day My Mind Blew Up

“Holy mother of-” was the first phrase that came to mind as I entered the exhibition hall after a short wait in line. Bombarded with a barrage of lights and sounds that was almost deafening, I steeled my willpower to keep myself from running about like a giddy schoolgirl.
