Gran Turismo 5: Prologue comes off feeling like it’s somewhere between an extended demo and a full blown rip off. There are only 6 actual tracks to race on (mirrored and inverted don’t really count), they game offers a very light option to customize your cars, and even the car selection is sparse, especially, when compared to the GT standard. That said this game is drop dead gorgeous. From the scenery to the interior of the cars everything is digitally replicated with such detail and splendor that I’ve never been so captivated by an odometer.

Where the game manages to add depth is in its online mode. Online features video, leader boards and of course races. The only problem is that once you reach the end of B-Series races you’ll probably be looking for something new, and unfortunately in Prologue that option just isn’t there. With this GT only the most hardcore of fans and most enthusiastic of car enthusiasts will want to unlock every car, find all the best lines, and win every gold. For the rest, well there’s a reason it’s called Prologue and no doubt GT5 will have all the goodies.

Pros:
Visuals are outstanding
Races can be intense
Online Racing

Cons:
Way too little tracks
Very limited customization
