For those of us that are disenchanted with the selection of games that are out on the market today and are more partial to the days when we were shaking and blowing on our cartridges and bickering with our siblings who got the next turn with the television, there’s finally a game collection for you.
Sega has put together one of the largest collection of classic titles pulled from the games that made the Genesis famous. During a time when the normal gamer hadn’t the slightest idea about what an FPS was, what an RTS is, an RPG, an MMO, a sand box, a physics engine, or any other modern term or technology we have come to know and crave today.
The collection consists of over 40 games with both single and multiplayer capabilities, as well as six other Arcade games, unlockable content, and graphics remastered with high definition (however its hard to tell when the graphics are already so dated).
Its tricky when your grading a collection of games, especially ones that were made years ago when the standards were much lower. But I can tell you that even though I was primarily a Super NES gamer when compared to the Genesis (even though I had both system), I throughly enjoyed this game. Their collection was wide and inclusive, the accessibility was easy, fast, and each title seemed to unlock an old memory or a bit more nostalgia. You are given the ability to simply save any game at any point in time and move onto another in this proverbial smörgåsbord of titles. And best of all its cheap, a mere $29.99. Although not a game that broke any records or set any new standards, for what it was made to be, I highly recommend picking up a copy if nothing on the market piques your interests.
Pros
-
Lots of games to choose from
-
Easy to save your place
-
Quick loading
-
Wide variety of titles
Cons
-
No NBA Jam
Final Verdict: Play it

I had the same (smaller) compilation for the Dreamcast. I wish they included the arcade version of Golden Axe instead of the inferior Genesis version back then, too.
