Bioware has responded to the reports of Call of Duty: Black Ops II install disc issue. Their plan, taken straight out of some romantic comedy somewhere, can be boiled down to this statement on their website. “If the universe thinks that you should be playing Mass Effect right now, who are we to argue?”
BioWare has pledged to give out a free code redeemable for Mass Effect Trilogy to the first 50 people to send in a picture that clearly show that they’re affected by this mix-up. Head over to BioWare’s website for more specifics.
Activision has also responded to this over on Call of Duty: Black Ops II‘s forum boards requesting more info about the situation. They have also recommended downloading the Steam version of the game as a workaround as various websites have suggested yesterday.
The conspiracy theorist in me can’t help but feel like BioWare just pulled off the ultimate publicity stunt to promote Mass Effect Trilogy that came out last week, but I’ve no doubt that this is nothing more than a simple production mix-up.
