Burglary Cut from L.A. Noire, Would Not Fit on Blu-Ray

L.A. Noire takes up a whole lot of disc space, but there was more that was cut from the final product.Team Bondi co-founder stated that 11additonal cased would not fit on one Blu-ray along with the full L.A. Noire game.

“We had a Bunko and Burglary desk – bunko is fraud and burglary is just people robbing houses and stuff – we had eleven full cases for that, which we wrote and did the design for to a certain extent – we even did the art for them too, but it just got to a point where we were never going to fit it on one Blu-ray,” he said.

“It just becomes super prohibitive at that point. I think there might have been a better arc if we did do that – you get more of a chance to introduce different things – but in terms of the overall experience I think we did pretty well.”

L.A. Noire is also a pretty forgiving game, since you can’t fail cases. But McNamara said that they implemented a penalty system, where if you fail a burglary case you would be busted down to recovering stolen cars, small robberies, and street muggings until you were offered another case. It was cut because it would have been too much of a “distraction.”
