The Details For Sony’s Welcome Back Program

Sony promised us compensation for the PSN being down the last few weeks. A few hours ago they released the details of said program.

With the basic PSN service and Qriocity back up and running Sony says they can finally reveal the details of the “Welcome Back” program they’ve hinted at for the last week or so.

Anyone who is a PSN or Qriocity member will be able to get a few free games from Sony.

For everyone with a PS3 you can choose two from the following -

- Dead Nation

- LittleBigPlanet

- Super Stardust HD

- Wipeout HD + Fury

People with a PSP PSN account Can choose two from the following -

- LittleBigPlanet (PSP)

- ModNation Racers

- Pursuit Force

- Killzone Liberation

Shortly after the PSN Store is back up and running you’ll have 30 days to claim your game but you do get to keep them forever.

We’re also being offered some other extras for going through the outage of service -

- A selection of “On Us” rental movie titles will be available to PlayStation Network customers over one weekend, where Video Service is available. Those titles will be announced soon.

- 30 days free PlayStation Plus membership for non PlayStation Plus subscribers.

- Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will receive an additional 60 days of free subscription.

- Existing Music Unlimited Premium Trial subscription members will receive an additional 30 days of free premium subscription.

- Additional 30 days + time lost for existing members of Music Unlimited Premium/Basic subscription free of charge for existing Premium/Basic members.

- To welcome users Home, PlayStation Home will be offering 100 free virtual items. Additional free content will be released soon, including the next addition to the Home Mansion personal space, and Ooblag’s Alien Casino, an exclusive game.

I’m curious as to what you guys think about this. I for one am a little let down. I already own 3 of those PS3 games so I’m going to have to get Dead Nation and Wipeout. I’m thinking they should of let you choose one game from any Sony has published or developed or whatever, then give you a second from a list or something like that. It’s kind of weak they’ve offering some of their biggest titles that I’m going to guess most PS3 owners already own.

I’m getting Dead Nation for sure! I like the offerings, there a step in the right direction. The biggest peace offering, at least in my opinion, is the ID protection.

  2. Wolf96 says:

The store needs to come back online so I can get my Back to the Future downloaded!

  3. Sterile Prophet says:

I would of loved to see Killzone 2 offered.
