PSN Outage Leads to Increase in PS3 Trade-Ins

There’s more bad news for Sony since now they are getting hit where it hurts most: retail. The backlash from the PSN fiasco has led to a dramatic increase in trade-ins for the PS3, some settle for the cash, while a good number take an Xbox 360 instead.

One independent retailer Gameswap stated:”People are bringing in PS3s together with all their games and they don’t want money, they want an Xbox 360. In every case it is because of Black Ops and or Modern Warfare 2.

“We’re just ten days into the month and already we have an increase of 200 per cent in PS3s coming into the store compared to all of March. Normally we sell them really fast, but not this time. We’ve only sold 30 to 40 per cent of our inventory right now.”

In addition to console trade-ins, apparently a lot of pre-orders for games have been switched from PS3 to the Xbox 360 version.

“Aw, it’s too bad what’s happening with Sony,” snickered an imaginary Microsoft executive.

“Hey, Virtual Console! WiiWare! Anybody?” asked a confused and hypothetical Nintendo representative.

“All hackers should get the death penalty,” said a pretend Sony spokesperson.

    LOL love the fake quotes!

Yeah, if you didn’t see this happening then you’re out of touch.

It’s like you were sitting in on our staff meeting when I jokingly told Kirby the PSN downtime had been upgraded from drama to fiasco
