At Nintendo World 2011, Hideki Konno demonstrated some gameplay from the long awaited Kid Icarus sequel, Kid Icarus: Uprising. It is actually the third game in the series but the first in 20 years.
The demo is narrated in Japanese, but you can see how the controls on the 3DS work for the game. The first area looks like an on-rails shooter, and if you remember the names of those eyeball things I’ll give you a million brownie points.
The gameplay then switches to a ground segment, where Pit dashes and dodges while attacking enemies with what looks and functions like a gunblade. Pit then gets into a boss fight with the Grim Reaper, who was as I recall a minor enemy in the first game that summoned tiny “reapettes” if it spotted you.
Oh, Pit…with your cherubic face and kid-friendly game you could almost be the “anti-Kratos.”
