There are a thousands of reasons for nerds to get excited about Comic-Con. If it has anything to do with costumed superheroes, elf ears, sci-fi celebrities (like the ever-present Peter “Chewbacca” Mayhew), and scantily clad women dressed up as your favorite scantily clad characters, it’s just the place to be. So now there’s two additional reasons to check out the Comic-Con in San Diego: Nintendo will show off a couple of highly anticipated games.
Nintendo will have a booth displaying Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies which just launched July 11 and the long awaited Metroid: Other M which releases August 31.
Players who bring their DS’s along with a copy of DQ9 will have special access to a special downloadable treasure map called “Mortamor.” It will be available at the Nintendo booth for the duration of the convention. Players must have their DS’s running DQ9 and set to “Tag Mode”. Once players make it to the town of “Stornway” they will be able to access Tag Mode at the “Quester’s Rest Inn.” Remember all that?
Attendees will also get a chance to play portions of Metroid: Other M. I can imagine the long lines for that one. In the meantime, why not purchase a $20.00 autograph from Brent Spiner?
The Comic-Con expo will take place at the San Diego Convention Center July 22-25.
